Countering The Mass Shooter Threat
Course Description
In this seminar, you will gain crucial knowledge and learn the necessary steps to evaluate and protect your schools, churches, and communities from the mass shooter threat. Through an in-depth analysis of data gathered from 48 mass shootings since Columbine, this seminar will explore what can be learned from these tragedies. Topics will include:
- Whether a reduction in magazine capacity or the banning of any class of firearm would have changed the outcomes
- The role of “gun-free” zones in the planning of these mass murderers
- How victim response has impacted the outcomes of mass shootings
- Whether “universal background checks” or other proposals by gun control advocates can effectively reduce mass shootings
This seminar provides a comprehensive plan based on data, designed to eliminate the threat of mass shooters once and for all.
Since Columbine, 48 mass shootings have occurred in the U.S., with proposed solutions by gun control advocates such as magazine capacity limits, banning AR-15s, universal background checks, and barring individuals on federal watch lists from purchasing firearms. However, the data shows that these measures would not have prevented any of the 48 mass shootings.
Risk Factors
While most individuals from broken homes or with disengaged parents do not become mass shooters, there are risk factors that can indicate potential for violence or suicide. These include:
- Multiple failures academically, socially, or romantically
- Troubled, broken, or abusive homes
- Disengaged parents with no responsible adult oversight
- Psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations or delusions
Acts of violence can be random, but by understanding these risk factors, you can be better prepared to protect your family, friends, and community.
